"'Classic"

This Sam Maloof style rocking chair style is custom sized and balanced to the patrons' specifications. All parts are sculptured using fine woodworking techniques.

Classic rocker. Or Modern  rocking chair has become "The rocking Chair" of our age.

The following rockers are samples of some of the rocker styles I make.  These are all a verity of the so called Sam Maloof rocking chair.

Any of the following style custom rocking chairs can be ordered in special woods from around the world with accents such as Ivory, Ebony, Burl etc.  This custom design can come with a variety of styles shown below even a one-of-a-kind designed  rocking chair plan just for you. The Headrest can take on a variety of shapes as well as the arm treatment (note the front of the arm of the "Deutsche Classic"). Of course they are sized as requested. Many  features noted in my other rockers can be incorporated. Just ask.

'Ranch' style

Scroll down and have a look.

This rocker is made using Tiger Maple with a burled Headrest.  Accents are Ivory, Ebony and burled Mesquite.

The style is the "Classic Ranch Estate "  The Backslats are shaped in the 'moon' design and the front leg is a 'ranch' leg.

"Amy Classic"

This handcrafted rocker was made for one of seven children who each received one of my original design rockers.

The parents also own one of my custom designed rockers. Each one of the  eight rockers are of a different design.

"Ranch' style

"Deutsche Classic Ranch"

This Tiger Mesquite handcrafted rocker was made for a Doctor in Germany. This is another style only available from my Heirloom Furniture collection.

"Aussie Classic' style rocking chair. Made with black Mesquite.

This wooden rocking chair was build for a musician in Australia. You might call him a 'wood rocker'.

On this rocker you can see the special treatment on the bottom of the seat. This is not just a flat bottom seat. All my rockers have this special contoured seat. It takes extra time, but a quality rocking chair should be treated special.

"Garden Classic" Mesquite wood

This rocking chair was made to dress the new addition of a 'garden room' overlooking the tennis court, gardens and pools of their yard around their lovely Spanish style home. The natural edge on the top of the Headrest is used to complement the garden room theme.

"Ranch" style rocking chair.

The front leg is the 'Ranch Style". This rocker is made using Bastogne walnut in a 'petite' size

This Hand made rocking chair is an example of my specialty as a chair maker with a unique rocking chair history having over fifty five  years experience in woodworking.

More like the "old rocking chair" found in grandmothers home.

'Crown' style

"Texas Crown" style rocking chair made using Texas Honey Mesquite.

My "Crown" series is an exclusive style of my handcrafted rocking chairs as designer rockers for Heirloom furniture.

Because this is a 'Texas Crown" I thought bowed front legs would be appropriate.

"Classic Ranch Estate"  Made with Tiger Maple with a burled maple Headrest. Ranch front leg. This rocker sells for $6,500 with Tiger Maple and burled maple in the Headrest or $5,500 in Maple, Walnut, Mesquite, Myrtle and others.

"Crown Jewel "  style rocking chair

This rocker is made with premium Claro Walnut with accents of molded sculptured glass, Ivory, Ebony, and Burled Mesquite. Custom sized and balanced. The Backslats are shaped in the 'Full moon bow tie style.

They don't come any better than this rocking chair.

$9,500

"Crown Jewel Reader Rocker"

$9,800

made with Bastogne walnut using Ebony, Ivory, Burled accents and custom molded glass.

I originally made this rocker as a 'Nursery rocking chair" that is for a new mother with a baby, blanket, book etc. More room for all. Now it is also used by the grandparents to read and tell stories to grandchildren.

The size of this hand crafted rocker is suitable for large visitors up to four hundred pounds. I have had a friend who is six foot six and just about four hundred pounds use this rocker. At first he was afraid he would harm the chair, but I told him "if I can make them I can fix them".

I do make a "Mas Grande" for extra large people.

''

Porch'"  or Outdoor rocking chair

Teak wood $1,700

This wooden rocker is ideal for indoor or outdoor use. It is handcrafted  using woods from the tropics, such as Mahogany, Teak, Mesquite. The leg joint is the same as my up- scale rocker. The arms are handmade and sculptured then secured with invisible dowels. No through bung hole dowels from the top. I use ship builders epoxy and the best glues. You can paint it for a Black rocking chair or  for a white rocking chair as well as other colors. All the joints are sculptured not just attached. Take a close look and you can see the difference. I make this rocker in the five backslat version in standard size and balance.

I make this rocker once a year as I receive the woods. Orders are taken during the year with a $500 deposit.

This handmade rocker has the sculptured features Of the Sam Maloof style rockers with added Old World French finish. It comes with boat  builders epoxy  using special order Hickory dowels, Sculpture seat, top and bottom, with contoured arms. The front is handcrafted not lathe turned as is common for production work and unskilled labor; I think my customers deserve better. Even Sam Maloof comments how fast he can turn a front leg on the lathe. This rockers comes in the standard size and balance suitable for patrons from five to six foot six and one hundred to three hundred pounds.

This rocker will last for generation as  Heirloom furniture should.

I will make a few wooden rockers of this model each year.

This Armless rocking chair is used by guitar players. Although is not truly and armless rocker it does allow room to play. Picture coming. I have to figure how to change it fro 'tif' to 'JPG. So much for a woodworker not a being computer hack.
